‘Chinese-Venezuelan relations are normal (…) they develop pragmatic (…) legitimate and beneficial cooperation for both peoples,’ she said in response to statements by Elliott Abrams, the US special representative for Venezuela.
On Wednesday, Abrams noted that China cannot grant more credits to Venezuela because Beijing is ‘concerned’ about the South American country’s payment capacity.
On the other hand, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman rejected accusations by US National Security Advisor John Bolton about China’s alleged predating practices to win a geopolitical competition in Latin America.
She noted that those accusations are groundless and irrational, because ties with that continent are based on fruitful results for all and taking advantage of each side to stimulate balanced progress and improve people’s living standards.
