Cuba will work for the inclusion of all people in order to build a society in which the fundamental principle is equity, said the official of the Cuban Labour and Social Security Ministry (MTSS) Joe Magin Hernandez today.
During the opening of the sixth Conference of the Latin American non-governmental organizations of people with disabilities and their families (Riadis) stressed that the island works so this part of the population can enjoy their rights.
The director of prevention, assistance and social work of the MTSS added that this body is one of which is related with the attention to the people with disability in Cuba and guarantor of inclusive policies at national level
This meeting, that will be held until Thursday in the Convention Center of this capital, wants to promote the inclusion in those countries articulating strategic actions between the network and the Governments.
Also focuses on promoting the gender equity, and policies for the benefit of young people and people in indigenous communities with physical or intellectual limitations according to the organizers.
At the Conference, more than 200 delegates from 16 countries met on the efforts of the Caribbean island to cater for people with mental and physical limitations through interdisciplinary mechanisms involving different sectors of society.
