A few meters from the city’s legendary statue of The Liberator, dozens of internationalist collaborators, diplomats, special guests, and members of solidarity with Cuba groups filled the Principal Theater with a gala celebration featuring artists from both nations.

Jacinto Gómez, head of Cuba’s mission in the sister nation spoke during the July 26 celebration and reaffirmed collaborators’ motivation and loyalty, highlighting their support to the Bolivarian Revolution’s prioritized missions, including achievement of 100% healthcare coverage for the Venezuelan population and the Robinson II program to extend basic education, linking studies with productive work.

He recalled the sincere brotherhood shared by the two peoples and President Raúl Castro’s description of Cuba’s commitment to Venezuela as unconditional and non-negotiable.

Gómez noted that this year’s commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Garrisons was even more joyous with the proximity of Fidel’s 90th birthday in August and the anniversary of the birth of Eternal Comandante Hugo Chávez, July 28.
