Evo Morales Highlights Right-Wing Opposition”s Subordination to USA .
La Paz, (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President, Evo Morales, said that the right-wing opposition cannot demand judicial independence if it was always subject to the U.S. government.
“What judicial independence is the right-wing talking about if during neoliberalism, judicial reform in was in the hands of the U.S. embassy? Morales asked on his Twitter account @evoespueblo.
In his message on the social network, the statesman said “the prosecutors were paid by the Office of Narcotics Affairs Section and the United States Agency for International Development.”
He also added, “some lawyers are working in complicity with neoliberal political parties.”
Evo’s statements are a response to the Bolivian opposition, who have questioned the conclusions of the recently held National Summit of Justice in the city of Sucre.
Issues such as the election of the highest authorities of the legal body, access to justice, delay, corruption and impunity, disciplinary procedures and the training of officials and lawyers, among other aspects, were discussed at the event.
