|Venezuelan President is Optimistic After Regional Summit.|
Caracas, Jun 5 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Through Twitter, the head of state thanked the support given by the association to the Venezuelan people and shared a video from the Revolution Square in Havana.
He recalled that the integration block issued a statement in support of the dialogue initiative led by the Union of South American Nations, with the involment of former presidents José Luis Zapatero (Spain), Leonel Fernandez (Dominican Republic) and Martín Torrijos (Panama) to bring the opposition and the government closer.
While speaking at the summit, Maduro condemned the actions of the Organization of American States against Venezuela trying to apply the Democratic Charter, under the assumption that the government does not respect democratic freedoms. In this regard, the president recalled the principle of self-determination and non-interference in their internal affairs.
